hai! my name is mandee and i stumbled upon FA via an ad on a random site because i'm a member (and a mod) at the beginning of the end and i recognized the name firenze academy, as well as the person who posted it (v!). today, i'll be introducing gina verdicchio to you all. enjoy!

personalitΰ: Gina is a very logical person. She does have an imagination, but she prefers to see proof before believing anything. For example, she likes the idea of Santa, but thinks it's stupid that anyone her age should be asked to believe in something that is so obviously a fantasy.

She's decent at school, and loves to tell people about it, to the point of boasting. It's a way to make her feel better about herself, and to help her get recognized. She feels as though she has to constantly compete with her younger brother for the attention of her parents (which may or may not be true, but it's how she feels nonetheless).

She often doesn't think how what she says will affect people. She is not intentionally mean, but may come across that way. And chances are, if you think she's mean, you'll treat her mean, and therefore she'll treat you mean in return (after all, why be nice to a person who doesn't want to be nice to you). Nasty cycle, isn't it?

She is also quite into boys...though she realizes her grades are important, she will often be distracted by social matters.

la storia:
Gina was the first child born to Felicita and Gasparo Verdicchio. They were barely into adulthood when they had her, yet they did a relatively good job despite this. Gina was spoiled for her first few years of life, when she was the only one around the house. She basked in the attention, acting like a little doll and posing for pictures.

Then her little brother Niccolo came along and spoiled her fun.

Most older siblings eventually grow out of their jealousy of their younger siblings. Gina never did as a youngster, and at the rate she's going, she probably never will. She does love her brother, but that doesn't mean that she has to put up with the fact that he's the baby of the family and is stealing attention away from her. When she was really young, she would take out her frustration on her brother by bullying him physically. As she grew older, however, she found that a sharp tongue could do even more damage. There are times when she can be nice to her little brother, but more often than not, she has a taunt or an insult waiting for him.

Fortunately for him (and for her, to some extent), Gina went off to school. She is adjusted well to life at Firenze Academy, and ever since her first year has burst onto the social scene at Firenze. She loves socializing and is a bit of a gossip.

However, she also realizes the importance of her grades. In her fourth year she began to chase after the opposite gender and shows no signs of stopping any time soon.

esempio: [i]"It is, isn't it?" It was clear that the waiter knew that the girls were talking about him. This caused Gina to giggle even more. She was quite decent with men, as she'd spent much of her time at school chasing after them. The boy could honestly use a few pointers, and if Gina were shopping alone she might offer a few, but she was with Zephyr, and that was more important than anything else.

Gina shrugged. "I wasn't particularly worried either, but it made things at least semi-interesting around here. Press interviewing students, stuff like that. Now the press is gone though and it's just the same old story." The fifteen year old made a face that involved sticking her tongue out and rolling her eyes.

"To be curt, I feel the same way as you. Without friends and the occasional hot guy, school would be absolutely unbearable."

Gina's eyes widened slightly as Zephyr brought her lack of refreshments to her attention. She'd focused on the conversation and not on the reason why most people visited cafes in the first place. "I ate before I came, but a drink does sound good." She looked in the waiter's direction and beckoned him over, with a small grin on her face. The waiter came over.

"I would like to place an order for a cappuccino, with a side of your phone number.." Phones were something that Muggles used, and she was well aware of this, but she knew those visiting the shopping mall were probably Muggles, and asking for his owl would earn her some strange looks. Therefore, she had to use the Muggle wording for her plan to work. As expected, the waiter turned red as a tomato and muttered something, heading off to the kitchen. He returned quickly with Gina's cappucino...and a number written on the napkin underneath. Gina smirked, holding it out to show Zephyr. "I thought I would have a bit of fun with the boy." She was leading him on, sadly, but how was he to know that? Gina did not even know how to work a phone...it was a strange Muggle technology to her, and she still had difficulty understanding Muggles at times.
