I started looking and the bubble burst I started looking for excuses... -outfit-
September was usually a brighter month. It was the transition from summer to autumn, when the sun set later and evening trips to the galleria were especially beautiful. The setting sun saying its farewell for the colder months in beautiful golden hues stretching its rays through the red clay rooftops of Firenze. Serenas shoes brushed the ground softly, hands in pockets, her strides slow, steady as she gazed towards the departing sun. She took a deep breath.
All summer Serena had being working with her father, Sylis Alderton, the owner and manager of the Appleby Arrows. She had been living her dream job to be a Quidditch Photographer, and it had been an amazing experience. Yet that had been North, in the UK. There the earth smelt like worms and grub. The water salty mixed with an odour of wet dog. It was nothing like Italy, her homeland. Usually September in Firenze brought back the smell of truffles, a strangely pleasant aroma of sweetness and garlic. Yet tonight, the usual sweet fragrance that Serena longed for was lacking, it almost seemed stale, as if the fornellis of Firenze lost their magical touch.
She sighed allowed the realization of her changing Italy to fall upon her shoulders. Their Minister was dead and the fear of new darkness was left among them. Perhaps a cone of gelato would allow the news to settle better. Closing usually wouldnt be until late, but now with a new concern, it might make some unexpected schedule changes. Her steps quickened reaching the square faster and soon to her relief, her beloved Piazza del Campidoglio was as she left it in June. Fret-free. And so, she stood in line with the few other customers ready to ignore their worries and fears to enjoy a few minutes of a delicious frozen treat.

she lives in a fairy tale SHE'S RIPPING THE WINGS OFF BUTTERFLIES WITH HER FEET ON THE GROUND
It was nice to be back at school again. Summer had been dull as ever, just sitting there all day listening to people walk past. A girl with a strange accent had been moved into the room on the left, and an inspection of her belongings while she was asleep revealed a small radio set. Most people weren't allowed to bring anything like that. A radio, for instance, could be taken apart and some of the inside parts were sharp enough to really hurt someone. Only if the person holding it had a decent knowledge of where exactly to cut someone if the goal was a lot of dark red blood seeping out over the weapon used and dropping towards the ground...not that she did or anything. Dangerous crazies were sent straight on. Fiona was considered a hopeless case, but they were waiting until she was technically no longer a minor for her parents' money to run out. She didn't know all the details.
All she knew was that the people at Firenze couldn't stuff her out the wazoo with pills if she disobeyed one of their rules, and that she was headed for a lobotomy either way, so she might as well have fun. That was the thinking behind her daring escape from the castle down to the piazza, wearing a pair of worn denim shorts and an old blue tank top without shoes. The grass under her feet felt wonderful, but she had to duck a couple of times to avoid passing prefects and professors that might haul her back up to school because she didn't have permission to go down to the piazzo. Like it mattered, in the long run? People were so silly. And she didn't have any money, so she couldn't exactly buy contraband items while she was out. Steal, maybe, but they generally never thought of that, being all eager to follow every stupid rule they could think up.
It was a shame she had never been down to this little piazza before, it was actually kind of nice. Maybe a splash of red paint on that wall, toss some confetti over the middle to add more color, and throw in a big wall mural of flying dogs throwing playing cards and eating noodles. Yeah. Then it would go from kind of nice to totally rockin'. She'd learned that word from listening to people talk in the hallway. There was a muggle musical group that was totally rockin' but the nurses were bogus and stupid. Fi wasn't sure what bogus meant, but they were definitely stupid. Hmm, replacing this glass with colored glass would be nice too, it was too bland the way it was. People could see right through it.
Uh oh. Seeing through it was especially bad when there was a professor in the vicinity. A professor would know she wasn't supposed to be here, as most of them seemed to recognize her around the halls if she attended their classes despite the fact that she never bothered to learn half of their names. Saying "professor" got their attention just fine, didn't it? This was one of her regular professors, sure to know who she was. Time to exit stage that way, as she ducked into the closest door to a shop marked "Gelateria." Presumably it sold that gelato stuff. Hm, professor unhelpful would still be able to see her though. She'd been so right about those windows! Thinking fast, Fiona looped around the line of people in front of the counter and stood on the side away from the window, hoping the professor wouldn't feel a craving for gelato.
"Shh!" Fiona pressed her index finger to her lips when one of the line-standers gave her a bemused look. Not like she was getting in the way of their line, right? They were just a human wall in between herself and john law. "Heey," she drew out the word, looking at a brown-haired girl standing in line. Her shushing hand moved to her chin to adopt a thoughtful expression. "Don't I know you?"
