IT WAS UNLIKELY TO FIND SARAH NEXT TO A BUNCH OF TAME OWLS AND
NOT STICKING HER FANGS INTO AT LEAST ONE OF THEIR THROATS. evie's
first want was to do just that. the blood would taste so good on her tongue, and
tickled and soothe her burning throat. ever sinc she had come here she had to
gnaw on her tongue to keep from attacking one of her young peers; she had
about 200 years of age on them - and she knew that youthful human blood was
the sweetest. okay, possibly a little gross persay - but she knew it was true and
she made and effort to sit far away from her peers in classes. she knew unless
she had been further acquainted with a person, she owudln't attack them - but
every one else she avoided in fear for the monstrosity she had become in history
prior to attending firenze. for now, sanity was content with eating raw meat.

SANITY FOUND THAT SITTING FAR ENOUGH AWAY FROM THE OWLS HELPED.
she had desired to 'rent' a school owl and send a letter to her sister. sanity had
no idea if her sibling, a vampire like her, was even alive at this moment. it made
her shudder rather unconditionally. suddenly, an owl fluttered towards her far
left side, her weaker side she stroked it with only her pinky. the warm wind was
nipping gently at her nose and eyes, and her attire was fitting. she wore light wei
ght clothes, but they covered almost all of her skin. sanity feared a sever sunburn

Nico looked down at the piece of parchment being suffocated in his hand. He tried to ease up on his grip so it wouldn't be wrinkled, but the anger burning in him wouldn't allow it. This was so very wrong. Anger was never an emotion Nico needed to feel because, hey, he was the one always ruining people's lives, not the other way around. Despite every fiber of him wanting to punch the nearest crap for brains of a person, he kept his composure. The fact someone had made him irate was bad enough, to show it would be blasphemy. It had been that damned chaser off one of the Quidditch teams. He wasn't even sure which one it was, all he knew was someone from their house had made a bet with him that their team would win. So in order to ensure the Lethifolds won and he got his payment, Nico had seduced one of the members of the opposing team in order to get them to throw it. How was he supposed to know the chick was also the girlfriend of that damned aforementioned chaser? Hell, Nico didn't even really like kissing. Often times it was wet, sloppy, and a complete mess, but he did what he needed to in order to be victorious.

Trying to get his mind off the whole ordeal he thought about the contents of the letter. His last werewolf shifting had taken place three days ago. By now his father was probably already spazzing out since he hadn't gotten that letter Nico was forced to send every month saying he was okay and none of the kids at school had been eaten. Normally he sent it the morning after the full moon, but he'd been busy trying to figure out a way to kill the damn chaser without getting caught. Yes, he'd decided to go that far. If Nico were being honest with himself, he'd admit that it was because the damn guy had humiliated him in front of the dining hall yesterday. Intellect was where Nico's true strength laid and he hadn't calculated that the idiot chaser would actually throw a punch. It didn't matter that it'd barely missed Nico. No, what mattered was that Nico had, in a brief moment of weakness, allowed himself to look shocked. If word got out that all one had to do to throw Nico off his game was try and punch him, his reputation would be ruined.

Letting out a sigh he contemplated who in this damned school would actually be willing to murder and just exactly how Nico could manipulate them to do it. He doubted the Owlery would hold his answer, but he needed to go there and ship off this letter. Nico did have an owl, an all black one to be exact, and no it wasn't natural coloring, it had been charmed that way. His father had recovered it from one of the dark wizards he put away and given it to Nico on his nineth birthday. Swift happened to be the fastest owl Nico had ever seen, and it was probably why his father had gone through so much trouble to secure the animal. Even before the whole tenth birthday killing spree his father had anticipated needing hasty contact with Nico when he'd be at Firenze.

Normally the owl stayed with Nico in the dorms, but he'd put it the owlery when it wouldn't shut up while he worked on potions homework. Now he had to make a trip to the fowl smelling place. If he got owl poop over his shoes he'd be royally pissed and snap the culprit's neck. Entering into the place his eyes roved around for Swift, quickly finding the bird. Without hesitation, he strode over and tied the letter to the birds foot. The bird didn't need to be told what it had to do next and it quickly spread it's wings and flew out the window. Turning back towards the door Nico planned to make a hasty exit when he noticed a girl was up there with him. Looking her over he realized she must be Sanity, and according to his sources she was a vampire. Suddenly his chaser problem was solved. Now all he needed was the equation that'd work. Running a hand through his hair he leaned upon the nearest wall and flashed the girl his warmest smile possible. "Bird watching?" He lifted an eyebrow to emphasize the question.

some how, for several seconds, sanity forced herself
to roll up her sleeves. despite the strong phobia of the
sun for most vampires, the girl could accept that she
would rather feel the dry rays of sun than dye of dehy-
dration in these sweaty, though loose, clothes. she felt
the effects instantly, and began twitching. but she did
not roll her sleeves up. then she would be screwed. eck.
that was the one defect of being a vampire. that and...
blood. well, the blood was good too. as long as it was an
animal's. she'd attacked humans nonstop for the first
150 years of life, and she hadn't even felt guilty. she
would now only consider herself heartless for that !

the girl let the pitter patter of her fingers embellish the
hardwood floor, and mix with the teps of another being
she did not notice at first. probably entered from the
opposite set of doors, the male had not caught sanity's
stellar senses at first. this was probably because of her
unwaving focus at other things. the isolation of the mind
but luckily, the boy did end up noticing her. luckily so
that sanity would have some one to talk to. he obviously
looked a little interested. it was either for two reasons.
he was interested, or he knew that she was a vampire.

"oh, no. me? "
she replied. birdwatching was boring.
it was just watching brainless feathers floating around.
" no, " she said, " oh, sorry. i'm sanity. who are you? "

Nico's eyebrow quirked up at her introduction. Maybe he wasn't as well known as he thought. Then again, rumors often times didn't come with a picture so even if Sanity knew of his reputation she might not know what he looked like. "Officially my name's Nicodemus Verona, but majority of the population calls me Nico." He tipped his head ever so slightly to make the equivalent of a long distance hand shake. "It's a pleasure to meet you." His eyes scanned her to take in her rolled up sleeves and the obvious irritation it caused her to be slightly exposed to the sunlight.

To tell or not to tell? He mused, That is the question. Nico wasn't aware if vampires could tell if werewolves were...well, werewolves. He wouldn't have necessarily known Sanity was a vampire if it hadn't been for his source. She didn't radiate some putrid smell only his kind was able to sense. In fact, Nico's sense of smell wasn't all that great to begin with unless it was a full moon. So if vampires hadn't all banded together to start wearing a potent uniform perfume, then there was really no way a werewolf could tell. Besides her being rather pale, she seemed almost normal.

Deciding that it'd be more efficient to reveal he knew she was a vampire, he said, "Guess you wish it was a cloudy day, seeing as how sun screen probably doesn't help a vampire's resistance against the sun." He wasn't sure if she'd be offended or not that he was aware of what she was. Personally he viewed his..."ethnicity" as a curse. He didn't need his fellow peers telling him he was a monster. He knew he was one, and he didn't judge that solely on his actions like everyone else around him. Hopefully Sanity was at peace with what she was. It'd make things go smoother. Then again, whether she was or wasn't, exposing that he knew helped move the process along at a faster pace.

She continued tapping her fingers, musing through her impatience.
Did he know she was a vampire? She didn't hesitate ever to admit it.
This was probably because she never could hold onto a close friend
any ways. it's not like admitting that would help it along, or spoil it
any more than it had. She was hardly worried about being consider-
ed dangerous. she hadn't harmed a human soul in the past fifty yea-
rs.

"oh," she said, nearly surprised that she hadn't recognized his hawk
like features before. Nico had a rather smudged reputation about th
e school, but Sanity was hardly wary. People often stated she did not
know how to be wary, thought that living 200 years had made her th
ink she had little enemies. The opinion of her was rather correct. He
r thoughts? a little twisted from fact.

"Nico," the name had struck a chord ", a Pleasure" she smiled with
a reserved with curve on the right side of her mouth. She didn't kno
w quite what he would want ffrom a girl like her. Why had he stopp
ed to talk? She alughed quickly at his statement. "I'm afraid that it
doesn't." She pulled up her sleeves. Her arms were sizzling already.
"What brigns you up here at the time of day?" she asked curiously.
